Lunch Lecture: Why do a PhD in Computing Science?

Usually, in lunch lectures, we hear from great companies about all the career opportunities they offer for Computing Scientists. But as students of Radboud University, we are, of course, trained as academics. So in this lunch lecture, research director Arjen de Vries and his PhD student Gijs Hendriksen will talk about the opportunities this offers to us. Why could a PhD interesting to everyone, even if you are not (yet) interested in an academic career? And if you do want to work in academics what is the path for that? What does the job of a researcher look like? What tasks are all your teachers doing in the background? Why is an academic education great and which extra possibilities does it give you? These and more questions will finally be answered in this lunch lecture!
