HackNijmegen is coming up again, for the third edition already!
It is a collaboration between the Radboud, the CTF group, and the municipality of Nijmegen, in which students improve the municipality's security by attempting to hack their systems in a controlled environment. This edition, renamed to NYMACON 2024, will be on Friday 8 November, from 9:00 until 17:00, in Waalhalla at the Winselingseweg 12 in Nijmegen.

This time it will be set up more like a traditional CTF where you can score points in teams. Besides a web-based attack surface there will also be IoT devices to hack and there will be a workstation for doing password cracking. Security experts of Hunt & Hackett will be around, as well employees of the CSIRT team of ICT Rijk van Nijmegen. Hunt & Hackett will be monitoring the environment with the SOC, maybe improving the SOC rules for better detection, and to show what the SOC can see of attacks.

To register: send an email to the Digital Security secretariat at dis-secr@cs.ru.nl with the subject NYMACON with your full name. You must use your @ru.nl email for this, the official email address of your own university, or a personal live.nl account (because some communication via a Microsoft Teams environment). If you register before October 24th, you will receive a unique hoodie at the event.
In your signup, please include the following information:
- Your full name,
- The preferred size (S,M,L,XL) of your hoodie,
- The name of your team (if you have a team, otherwise you will be assigned one),
- The signed NDA (either the Dutch version or the English version),
- The name of the organisation, school or university you belong to (if there is one).

Practical information about the day itself: Doors open at 8:30. There will be coffee, tea, water, lunch and some soft drinks and snacks. You can also bring in your own food and drinks. And you have to bring your own laptop of course.

On Tuesday November 5 at 17:30 until about 21:00 there will be a training & preparation session for the event given by pentesters of Hunt & Hackett. This will be in the lecture room 028 in Mercator I.
