Batavierenrace

The biggest relay race of the world, the Batavierenrace, will once again begin right here in Nijmegen. After previous successes (2019, 2021, 2022 & 2023), Thalia will once again sign up this year. In the night from 24 to 25 May, our team of 25 runners will bridge the distance between Nijmegen and Enschede (175 km!). Once we reach the finish in Enschede, we will join up with several other Dutch Computing Science associations for a nice barbecue, after which we will wrap up the festivities with the enormous Batavierenfeest.

To get the runners to the start of their shift, we also need van drivers, so if you are not into running, but you do like to ride a van, you can still join! (Drivers licence required unfortunately). Besides runners and van drivers, we are also looking for people that want to help setting up the tents in Enschede, so that our tired runners can rest comfortably after they arrive at the camp site. The drivers and camp builders are, just like the runners, invited to the barbecue and the final festival!

More information about the race itself can be found on the Batavierenrace website: https://www.batavierenrace.nl/. Hopefully we'll see you there as part of our team, or on the side of the road to cheer us on!
