Test your algorithm design and programming skills! Compete with fellow students and tackle interesting problems. In five hours, teams of up to three members will solve as many algorithmic challenges as possible. The top teams may qualify for the final round, with a chance to advance to the North-West European and possibly even the global finals. Allowed languages: C, C++, Python, and Java.

This year, the Benelux Annual Programming Contest (BAPC) will be held on the 31st of October in Leiden, but you need to make it through the preliminaries first! Thalia is organizing the preliminaries on September 26th, and the top teams will advance to the BAPC.

The preliminaries will take place in the Huygens building, starting at 10:00 and ending around 17:00. This timeframe includes a test session to ensure the technology works correctly and lunch, provided by Thalia. After the contest, you may join us for dinner and stay for a session discussing the problem solutions.

Not only Thalia members but any team of 2 to 3 Radboud University students can register. If your team is ready, one person should submit the team members' names, team name, and study program in this form.

Some practical information:

• The allowed languages are: C, C++, Python and Java. You will have access to the documentation of the allowed languages.
• You will be working on university computers, that are heavily restricted from using the internet. You will only have access to the DOMJudge submission portal.
• Your submissions will be automatically tested through the DOMJudge system.
• A submission that does not pass all test cases will show the cause of failure: incorrect answer, no/too much output, time limit exceeded, or compiler/runtime error. No other information about the failed test case or the submission problem is revealed.
• The scoreboard will be visible during the first 4 hours of the contest. It will be frozen the last hour.
• You will be ranked based on the number of problems you have solved. In case of ties, the times-to-solve for all problems solved by the relevant teams are summed, and the team with the lowest sum wins the tie.
• Each participant is allowed bring a copy of their team's "Team Reference Document". A "Team Reference Document" is a 25-page single-side document, usually containing information about or implementations of algorithms and data structures. 
• You are allowed to bring your own pen/pencil. Scratch paper will be provided.
• You are allowed to bring a water bottle. Cups, other drinks and snacks will be provided.
• Any materials that are not specified above are not allowed during the contest. We have a trust-based policy when it comes to this; we will not ask you to hand in anything during the contest. Breaking this rule will result in disqualification.
