Have you ever wondered how WordPress, the open source CMS that powers 43% of the web, is made? The short answer is: by contributors. At first, most of them contributed as volunteers. But as WordPress' market share grew, an increasing number of those contributors is sponsored by companies. Some for a limited number of ours per week or month, others to work on improving and growing WordPress full-time. 

At Yoast, we're big fans of WordPress. The members of our Core Team work on WordPress full-time. Other employees contribute part time. And a few times a year, we organize Yoast contributor days, where all team members get to contribute for a full day. During those days, they collaborate with contributors from across the globe.

Join us for a day like that. We'll welcome you in our headquarters, and explain a bit more about how WordPress is made. Then we divide up into hybrid teams of team members who work from the office, team members who work remotely, and other contributors who join us for the day.

And, needless to say, at the end of the day, we celebrate what we learned and accomplished with drinks and snacks.

The day will have the following schedule:

9:00 - 9:15 - Walk in, wake up with your favorite coffee, tea or refreshment
9:15 - 10:30: Intro to Yoast, Open Source and Contributor Day
10:30 - 12:00 - Intro by table leads followed by contributing in small groups
12:00 - 13:00 lunch
13:00 - 15:00 contributing
15:00 - 15:30 contributor day recap
15:30 - 17:00 drinks and networking

Dresscode: informal. You'll see plenty of hoodies, so just wear what makes you feel comfy.
