Crash & Compile unfortunately had to be canceled in March, but, luckily, there is a second chance to show (off) your programming skills! The theme of this programming contest is... Corona! And, as the title indicates, this programming contest is modeled after Crash and Compile . The event will take place on Friday, August 14, so get (intellectually and physically) ready and start de Hypeeee!
Briefly how it works: you play in pairs or on your own, trying to solve computation and programming puzzles as fast as possible, to score points.
Plus, there is a twist!
- If your code fails to compile, you drink.
- If your code compiles, but fails to run, you take a drink.
- If your code runs, but fails to produce the correct output, you take a drink.
Here are some videos, specially selected for you. ;)
In order to win, you have to ride the Ballmer Peak , have fun, and adapt your debugging style to your ability to think and drink. Prizes will be awarded to the teams within different categories! These categories will be announced later on.
This Crash & Compile edition shall be online, so in order to join, you will have to arrange the correct devices to join this contest yourself. (A (working) laptop or computer with a (connected) monitor, in combination with an internet connection, suffices. ;))
We hope to have piqued your interest, and are looking forward to your registration! See you on Discord!
PS. Registration is required. This will be done via a Discord server, like all further communication about, and during, the event (a.o. extra challenges, an intro talk, some explanation, and the announcement of the winners). For this reason, it is very convenient to have a Discord account.
If you want to participate, but do not want to create an account (but are willing to use a temporary Discord account), please let us know in time (email@example.com). There is probably something that can be arranged. :)
