Batavierenrace

The biggest relay race of the world, the Batavierenrace, will once again begin right here in Nijmegen. After last year's success, Thalia was once again bold enough this year to sign up a team for this sports event. In the night from 10 to 11 May, our team of 25 runners will bridge the distance between Nijmegen and Enschede. Once we reach the finish in Enschede, we will join up with several other Dutch Computing Science associations for a nice barbecue, after which we will wrap up the festivities with the enormous Batavierenfeest.

Do you want to run away from your courses or other responsibilities? Or do you just enjoy running and are you eager to help your association reach the finish line? You can now sign up for our team! We are looking for 25 enthusiastic runners that want to uphold Thalia's honour. There is no need for you to be a top athlete, as long as you are motivated to run and you can show us you can complete your leg. In order to show us your capabilities, we will organise a preliminary round this year on April 9th, so everyone can show us how far they can run. Note that we don't select runners on speed, so don't let this preliminary round scare you off!

You can register through the following Google Form: https://goo.gl/forms/JXliVRXx91Kre97V2

The registration closes on 11 march at midnight

Besides runners, we are also looking for people that want to help setting up the tents in Enschede, so that our tired runners can rest comfortably after they arrive at the camp site. If you are interested in joining this team, you can register with the link above, too. These camp builders are, just like the rest, invited to the barbecue and the final festival.

More information can be found on the Batavierenrace website. Hopefully we'll see you there as part of our team, or on the side of the road to cheer us on!
