Lunch lecture ING

Be a good guy and phish your friends

All of us receive lots of phishing mails that try to convince you to enter credentials on a fake authentication page, or to make you execute malicious content. But we’ve learned to easily recognise them – or haven’t we? Without doubt, some phishing mails are easier to spot than others. But what causes this delta in difficulty level?

During this talk we’ll discover a number of elements that may influence the difficulty of a phishing email. We will also show how one could attempt to raise the awareness level of the organisation by sending out simulated phishing attacks to employees – and how to draw conclusions from their results.

The presenter will be Stijn Meijer. Stijn studied computing science in Nijmegen and graduated from the TRU/e master in 2018. Since then he's been working for ING at several locations, with his current position being in the red team of the global CISO department. He really likes puns, but promised they won’t hinder his presentation.
