Do you like boardgames? And/Or do you simply just want to meet new people? Then this is the event for you! During the first few hours of the evening we will be introducing several boardgames and play a round of them and afterwards you can keep playing the ones you liked or, of course, any other (board)game.
There will be no registrations, so at the start of the event everyone will be randomly divided into groups. Afterwards, the first boardgame will be announced and explained and then you can go with your group into a voice channel and get playing. The platform we have chosen to use is "boardgamearena.com" along with the Thalia Discord & secrethitler.io. Boardgamearena is available in many languages, so just press on the dropdown with the text "Nederlands" in the top-right corner, in case the site first loads in Dutch. Somewhat unfortunately, you will have to make an account, but there just is no way around this.
For the more experienced boardgame players, the games we have chosen will likely be familiar, but we decided to choose a few that we believe are popular and a must-learn. The schedule of the evening will be as follows:
20:30-20:45 "Walk in" - A small waiting period to make sure everyone who wants to participate has arrived. Ideally, you made an account on boardgamesarena.com now!
20:45-20:55 Group randomization - We will randomly make groups between the participants and give a little bit of time to connect / find each other.
20:55-21:10 Introduction 'Hanabi' - You know the other player's cards, but not your own..
21:10-21:25 Hanabi round
21:25-21:40 Introduction 'Secret Hitler' - Find out who in the parliament are fascists and aiding and abetting Hitler in secret
21:40-22:15 Secret Hitler round
22:15-22:30 Introduction 'Saboteur' - Find your way to the gold, but not everyone in your team wants you to find it..
22:30-23:00 Saboteur round
23:00-??:?? Enjoy the rest of the evening playing any game you liked or try something else! (if you want)
