Lights-out Factory at Prodrive Technologies

Some people call it 'Industry 4.0', referring to the 4th industrial revolution. Other people call it the digitalization of manufacturing industry. No matter which term you use, they all refer to a manufacturing methodology that succeeds the industrial revolution in which system integration, big-data analysis and machine learning play a pivotal role.

Prodrive Technologies, has always believed in their own manufacturing philosophy, called the “lights-out factory”: here the focus is always on the endgame: a fully automated factory, where the lights are turned off and the products are manufactured by robots and where quality and efficiency are the main pillars. Combined with the business strategy of vertical integration of production processes, Prodrive Technologies invested in the “lights-out factory” from the very beginning of Prodrive in 1993.

In this talk we will present an overview of the Prodrive Robotic Solutions (PRS), with an in-depth demo/explanation of one of the solutions and how this fits within the vision of the future of the company and manufacturing.
